I saw those too; it seems like a really good price for such a high quality engine. I realize they are in completely different niches, but with 11 horsepower Honda gasoline engines priced at $750, it would be a basic no-brainer to me if the application would allow an extra 150 lbs or so. (Semi-portable generators, trailer-mounted log splitters, lumber mills, etc)

I would love to repower my 7kw Coleman that currently has a 14hp Briggs Vanguard V-twin. How would one couple a gen head to this engine?

I bought one last year and mated it to a Winco generator. Back then they were $750 I think but did not have an alternator, bellhousing, or fan. The only problem was that mine came governed to 1800rpm instead of the published 3600rpm. Had to wait a couple of months to get the right governor spring from Yanmar. Works great now though.

It is a little dusty but you can get the idea. YM2000 fuel tank, FX20 radiator, YM1500 dynamo, lots of tractor parts on there.

It make a very inexpensive diesel generator set. We were going to buy a bunch of them last winter & sell these generator kits but they ran out of them and then I lost interest

How would one couple a gen head to this engine?

we machined a plate to bolt to the flywheel and then used these--

What generator did you run and what was the KW?
