I just recently purchased a John Deere Gator XUV 850D. This machine is a lot faster than i thought, but still just isn't fast enough! Does anyone know what to do or what to buy to get these things to have more zip?

One easy way to get more top speed is larger tires. With my 28 inch rears, my Gator will do mid-high 30's with the diesel. They also greatly help pulling and do well with the four wheel drive system off road. The diesel has enough torque to motivate larger tires, the gas engine does not. These sized tires are about the largest one can go safely in my mind, and they look great, too (not tacky).

Thanks jcmseven, I am sure this setup would also require a substantual lift. Do you know where to get that?

I have a HPX diesel and 3520 and just looked at the parts catalog for both engines. The blocks for both appear to be the same, so if you could use a 3520's turbo charger on the HPX or in your case the XUV. I have no idea if this is possible, or how it fast it would make the Gator go, but I sure would like to see that done. I'm sure it would cost a lot to do, and need a genius to make a go of it.

Fireplum,

I do not have any pics of my diesel XUV, but I posted several of my earlier gasoline one. They look identical. I cannot recall the link name, but it is in this forum and was about three months ago. Take a look, the machines are pretty nice.
