HEY Y'ALL!!
Had my LS XR4145 for about 2 yrs or so, just found this group.. just fell out of warranty. Been using the heck out of it. So much so I use it as my therapy from stresses of "The Job".

Here it is, I hooked my Auger found my marks, hit the PTO switch and . . .nut'n. the dash light shows it engaged but the auger is not spinning. I checked the "Auto" and "Manual" modes, cycled the switch in both modes clutch and no clutch and still nut'n.
I thought I may hav damaged something because I jammed a pine sapling back thru the engine and frame that I had to dislodge.
I got a flashlight and can see nothing bent, broke or out of place. I searched the forums for anything like my issues and found nothing.

Sometimes my switch doesn’t make full contact when I turn it on, but the light will illuminate. If I turn the know full right it will work, or I just turn it off and back on again.

It's electrical. First place to start is the fuse. Then all the safety switches.
Make sure you check all the connections with a meter.

If you were able to use it in the past, and it worked when you turned it off, and there was nothing mechanical sounding when you did so (banging, screeching, etc.), then you're most likely looking at an electrical problem.

Do you generally engage the PTO switch with the engine at full PTO RPM? I usually run the engine up to 1500RPM or so, then engage the PTO, then speed up to PTO RPM. I don't know how much load would be imparted by engaging the PTO at full RPMs, but if, say, a fuse was getting weak, it may pop if there is a jolt like that. Just thinking out loud.

These electronic PTOs should always be engaged at an absolute idle. The violent jolt cannot be feathered out and is extremely hard on gear boxes, including the one in your tractor. Turning it on at an idle is less violent, but still violent.

Thank y'all for thinking about it. I looked at the fuse first, as I was taught, all good. then I took my DVM and started to poke around the switch. there was a little moisture in the switch and plug. A little dry air and some conductive grease and the PTO spins as it should. I generally start my PTO pretty much low idle then bring up to speed. I couldn't imagine why I would want to engage anything at high RPM.

Well update.. the stupid switch failed again. I call my dealer, he had one in stock. Drove an hour this morning to get it. $29.94 lator its fixed.
the first one is a plastic cheep POS. The new one has a different PN , PN#40339438 and is metal.
