I just had a new XR4040H delivered last Saturday. So far, I've put about 14 hrs. on it. Today, while moving some firewood around, it went into a regen cycle as it does about every 4 hours. About 10 minutes into the regen cycle, the battery light and check engine light both came on. I looked under the hood and found both v-belts chewed up. I have a call into my dealer and he's checking into it. This obviously isn't normal wear and I'd like to figure out what caused the problem before just replacing the belts. Could it have something to do with the air pump since it happened during a regen cycle? Could it have just been improper installation from the factory?

Welcome to TBN.....
Congrats on your new tractor.
Keep us informed on what your dealer finds out.
I have about 85 hours on my XR3037HC without any problem like you have. Unless something like a branch or an animal got up in there to ruin the belt I don't have any answer.

I've had at least 10 regens on the XR 4046 and not had any problem, this does not sound like it is related to regen but a belt misalignment or something stuck in the belts

Dealer came out Monday and replaced belts. Don't know if he found anything wrong or not because I wasn't home when he came and I haven't heard from him since. I used it for a few hours and it went through a regen cycle with no problems.

Another problem I found was the cruise control wasn't working. The light would come on but didn't hold speed. I crawled underneath and found the bracket holding the magnet was bent away from the pedal. Bent it back and it's working now.

I have a new XR4046CH. Can you tell me how long it takes engine to go through a regen cycle. I have two lights lit up on dash that stay on.

It takes 30-40 min. If you shut the tractor off before it has finished it will try again when you restart and it gets to operating temp.
If you can it is always best if you can let it finish it's cycle once it has started.

I can't believe it takes that long. I have had several 2009+ diesel cars and the regen on those is around 10 minutes. 30-40 minutes is a long time. It seems that tractor engine engineers are behind the times. I am a fan of cleaner exhaust, but 30 minutes is a long time.
