Xj2025 & xg3025 are they same engine

I currently own a xj2025h and am thinking i need a larger framed tractor, I like the xg3025 but was curious if it is the same engine as in my xj202h,, I've noticed before with my tractor going up a hill (long but not terribly steep) it lags down quite a bit even in low range, I did have backhoe on and rear tires are loaded, so I'm wondering if xg3025 has same engine and being a bigger framed tractor with a backhoe and loaded tires it would be even worse

Checking LS's website shows they both have the same horsepower, rated at the same 2500 rpm, and both displace 80.4.

I'd same they are not going to perform much differently, given those hard, cold stats as bench tested.

Yeah thats what I got from the specs also, it was very cold day, I'll have to run up and down that particular hill again and see how it performs

Well, cards on the table- the XG is a lot more tractor and probably a better value. I have the XJ. It is good for what it is intended to do. In my world, I let my wife pick out the tractor for her purposes. But the XG is close to half again as much heft as the XJ. It has 350- 400 pounds more loader lift capacity with a wider bucket. The XG3025 being shuttle shift is a whole lot different feeling tractor. Comparing the hydro models , it has 3 ranges instead of 2- so that will have a benefit in some areas, but enough for what you seek? Yes, it is the same engine. For a more powerful ride, you would need to click up another notch. Are there particular issues or all in all the tractor is more anemic than you would wish? In low, our XJ will climb all day if asked. On the other hand, ask it for wheel torque in high- ask again.

I think if I buy another tractor, its going to be the 40 hp in the next frame size and not the 25hp version. For the LS tractors its 1k more per 5hp up in size for the model series. But for this piece of properties I'm using it on. the XJ is perfect.
