XG3025 Wiring

was looking around and found a two wire connection that I am not sure if it is hot or keyed power , tucked behind the bar on the gas tank. LS sells a switched light that plugs right into this but is $99.

It's hot with key on.

I put an LED light the same rough size as the factory one in the rear, Amazon, $10

Also replaced the brake lights with these to keep from baking the plastic lenses.

I have a 3037. The fuse for the working lights blows out when the switch is activated. The bulbs in the grill are LED. Any ideas?

Try removing the connectors from the headlights and then turn the switch on and see if the fuse blows.

First, thanks for offering to help.

I removed the headlight connections, turned on the headlights and got an immediate blown fuse for the work lights.

Does it blow the fuse at the first switch setting " Hazard Lights " of only when you turn it to the headlight selection?

I have separate switches for headlights, hazard lights and the grill work lights. Mine is a XR 3037.

In response to your query, I had the headlight switch in off position and the individual wires to the headlights disconnected. I then pressed the grill work lights switch to "on" position and the fuse for the work lights blew out immediately.

Sorry, I was thinking the switch was the same on that model, your just going to have to trace the wires from the grill lights to find it.

I assume that you think there is a short in the wiring-a wire has been rubbed raw or some connection is crossed over to another wire or ground?

It sounds like a short. Test continuity between the wire after the switch to ground with the bulbs removed. It should read open.
