My dealer is touting some aftermarket weights. Can anyone tell me how much the standard John Deere weights are per rear wheel and the cost?

Standard JD suitcase weights are 42 and 72(?) lbs. Last time I priced about a year ago the 72 lb weights were $105 per weight in Montana and much the same price in southern Alberta. I don't know about the smaller weights. Check eBay as there are usually some weights for sale there. If your lucky and find a seller close to you then you can just pick them up and you don't have to pay the freight. Tractor wreckers, scrap metal salvage and dealers back yards are also good places to look. Expect to pay at least the price of scrap cast iron.

The 72 lb starter wheel weights will cost about $350 for the set. The 50 lbs weights are about $260 for a set and bolt to the starter weights.

For what your getting, wheel weights are extremely overpriced.

Unless you do not want to run suitcase weights on the rear, be prepared to shell out some serious dough!
