Tractor
Ford and Kiotie

:) :) After reading several 'heated' threads I thought it would be good to have one for us to get in the spirit, and post X-Mas pictures etc.
I like X-mas lights. There must be many around the world who can post some pictures.

:D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

And here are some red and green faces for the holidays... the green ones are for the spirit of somebody wanting to do something nice and the nice replies some folks have posted. The red ones are for the folks that are acting jerky.

If you think using Xmas rather than Christmas is pc, you better try again.

Those who think the use of Xmas is an attempt to "take Christ out of Christmas" are also wrong.

X is the symbol in the Greek alphabet for the letter Chi. The Greek spelling for Christ in New Testament writings (in the Greek) is Xristos, pronounced Christos. Many early New Testament Manuscripts substituted X (Chi) as the symbol for Christ. Five hundred years ago Xmas, Xian, and Xianity were used frequently as abbreviations for Christmas, Christian, and Christianity by religious writers. The use of Xmas just hung on.

Look it up.

Some of these comments don't really deserve to be responded to.
But, If people disagree with the reason I started it in the first place, then they will know not to visit any posts that has my name on it.
I believe that this forum is more meant for tractor and the like, But In forming a gathering of tractor people , we need to be more excepting of others. After all there are many many members.
I am not going to try to explain what the 'holiday' means to me. Its far from the purpose of the thread.
Perhaps there should be a heading for discussions that are going to be a 'battle'
I am sure some newcomers as well as some regulars get discouraged from posting after awhile. Knowing that someone is going to jump down their backs.
For the first time I considered asking for this thread to be removed, but I thought about it, and others shouldn't suffer for the acts of a few.
What it needs is the option for the original poster to "bounce'
People are People.

the only difference between xmas and christmas is the spelling. looks like dweeks doesn't understand spirit.

I don't believe anyone who calls it "X-mas" means anything disrespectful, I see it all the time (my daughter does it). However considering what Christ did for me I think I can find the time and space to spell out "Christ".

How many of you have your tree up already? I was supposed to pick up the tree today, and even drove my old truck to work so I could, but it looks like I'll be tied up at work until too late to get it. Our granddaughter is in a choir thing this evening, and that makes the time too tight for getting the tree. We usually like to have it up about two weeks before Christmas....we have so many tree ornaments that the decoration of the tree is a big deal, so we like to have it up for a long time.

Looking at the lights made me think about converting as many as possible to LED. I bet there are LED light sets for outside; I've seen them for the trees. You'd think they would be both safer and much longer lasting. Besides, if I were to buy all new LED lights for the tree I'd save at least an hour or two by not having to unravel the tree lights I carefully tangled up last year.
