My wife would notice, because she would be at the dealer(s) when it was happening, shopping around. Somehow, she gets better deals than me.

Yeah, plus, she uses the equipment too, so it needs to "fit" both our needs.

I'll never know, as I wouldn't make that big of a purchase without discussing it with her, she's the same way with me...

If it was something we needed, she would be on board anyway... and be happy to chip in on buying it...

LOL. To each their own situation. For me, I was hand to mouth when we met and for the first year or two while we had a common checking account, we were going downhill from there. As a result of having separate accounts, we are now multi millionaires. Sooooo,,, I don't care how many pairs of shoes she has and she could not care less how many tractors I have. No secrets between us, just don't care.

Actually, I was just joking about the millionaire thing. I picked it up from an old friend who used that line when he introduced his wife at a social gathering. My wife is actually a real keeper. If I wanted to buy a new truck, it wouldn't be a problem. All she would say is, "Make sure it's another diesel, and don't forget the 4x4." When I bought the truck I drive now, she didn't even ask how much it was going to cost. OTOH, I think she may have been feeling guilty being she had borrowed my truck the night it was totaled by a young lady on a cellphone who ran a stop sign.

When my wife's mother passed away, I had to clean out her house. 400 pairs of shoes, most worn just a few times and hidden all over the house. I don't think my wife has that many.
