Hi guys - I have been saving for a loader for years and will have about 3500 total by January.

I am thinking about buying a new loader, either JD, woods or bush hog, but without the loader bucket so I can save money.

this will run around 3800 - in the range of my target budget.

I am thinking I can look for a used QA bucket. I just want to get a loader mounted on that thing while it is still available and affordable. I see the price of these going up in the next yhear or two.

Can anyone provide some guidance on this plan? thanks in advance.

IMO its a great idea if you get a Skid Steer QA...If you dont go with a SS-QA, I wouldnt reccomend it...

Gently Used Skid Steer buckets can often be had for cheap money if your not in a hurry...

spend extra money now for quick attach .... you can add a different new/used attachment for every xmas and birthday for years to come:)

I did that on my last tractor. I walked into a dealer 150 miles from home to get something else and he had a loader for my tractor he gave me for cost. no bucket. He had ordered it for someone else and it did not work out. Then I had to go get it and my trailer broke on the way home. Whatever. Then I got a bucket when I figured out what I wanted. Got a QA for the loader and a QA bucket. all in all it worked out well.

I agree with the others too and would say how you get there from here doesn't matter much. As long as you buy the right loader and the right buckets for the long term at the right price the sequence doesn't matter.

If you buy a FEL, try to get loader with global carrier attachment or skid steer attachment. Skid steer attachment would be my preference because of wide variety of new and used buckets that are cheaper and better built than JD's OEM bucket. Skid steer attachment will also allow use of cheaper pallet forks or other attachments in the future or for rental. Global carrier attachment (GCA) is becoming the norm for utility and larger ag tractors and gives more flexibility in the long term but still not as common as skid steer attachment. Depending on lift capacity, you may have to go with GCA. GCA is rated to lift more than skid steer attachment carrier.

If JD only has their standard quick hitch FEL, then I would go with another brand.

All-righty. Went to that page. Different sort of bucket you got there.

Web site needs to be updated. I ain't going to buy nothing from a web site that doesn't have phone number, physical address these days. Just an email address?

Get real.

Some dimentions would be nice.

And so on.
