I'd like to get this stuff (as per DP's ringing endorsements) but I definitely don't need 50 cartridges. I was quoted a price of $265 for a case. I probably only need 10-12 tubes at most. If anyone is interested in splitting a case just let me know. Don't want to turn this into a "I need 2 tubes" sort of deal....maybe 3-4 way split at most.

Or if anyone already has a case and doesn't need it all I would be willing to buy off some of yours.

Actually it's $256 not $265 for a case of 50 tubes, the 45 pound (6 gallon) pail is $221.85.

+1

It may be wonderful, but I'm sticking with my JD brand grease at $2.49/tube sold singly (cheaper by the case). Not saying it is necessarily as good, but I'm sure it is more than adequate.

Well for my purposes - one small tractor with about 15-20 grease joints - I would assume that 1-2 tubes would last me a year. I think that I can budget an extra $2.50 - $5.00 PER YEAR to ensure good maintenance of my $18K tractor. I'm not quite that cheap yet.

Hey DP, do you sell the stuff? I wrote to a distributor and was quoted the higher price.

At one to two tubes a year (not a huge investment), why not just go to the dealership you bought the tractor and purchase the manufacturer's specified grease?

I'm sure that would be fine. I'm looking for something better. Perhaps not absolutely needed but if the cost difference is minimal why not have the best? I tend to be forgetful with maintenance once the "new tractor smell" has worn off and I would like to have something I know I can rely on if I forget to lube once or twice.

NOW the real truth starts to seep out! Using a grease "twice" as good..but "one half" the proper times by FAR isnt the best policy! Using the same grease your dealer used during setup..and dont it PER THE SCHEDULE will allow that tractor to live its full design life.
