Would Adding Hydraulics Myself Void Factory Warranty?

It's probably a stupid question, but hey, I'm being optimistic here. :laughing:

I just put money down on a new JD 3025E, which I'll apparently be getting my hands on next month (dealer is backlogged with orders for them!).

Comes without any extra hydraulics, and dealer quoted me $1,200 PER SPOOL to get the dealer-added ones. EEK.

So now I'm reading the very-informative threads from folks here who've added their own remotes, buying the valves, fittings, hoses, etc. at Surplus Center or similar.

But my tractor will have a 2-year bumper-to-bumper and 6-year powertrain warranty on it... which I would really hate to void.

Any chance I could do this without voiding the warranty?

Simple answer, no.

Wether parts of the warrenty are voided? Depends.

If you have trouble with the stereo or lights, they're not going to be able to make the case that your work destroyed those items.

Same with the engine and power train, the manufacturer and/or their representative would have to demostrate that your work compromised those componets.

Now if the pump explodes, I think that would be on you. But blanket voiding? Probably illegal.

I agree with Rock Knocker. But to be safe, you might want to discuss this situation with the service manager at the dealership.

Magnusson Moss warranty act. Nuff said.

Under the Magnusson Moss Warranty Act they cannot blanket Void the Warranty. They can deny paying for a Warranty Repair if they claim your modifications caused the failure. However, the Burden of Proof is on them to prove the modification was the cause.

The Magnusson Moss Warranty Act only covers Personal and not Business use.
