Would a zero turn be faster than a B2601?

Yes, Very rough. Yard is rough, Chuckholes, moleholes, places where I rut it out carrying fire wood. Decks take a beating on the edges of the woods, Front tire linkage wears very quickly.
My last tractor I had chains on the rear to make up for turf tires. Chain fell off. Hit it with the deck. Jammed the engine to a stop so fast the block cracked.

I've noticed that I much mow slower with the tractor than I do with a ZTR.
I mow my largest chunk, 6 acres with a 7'RMM for 9 years now. Mostly flat and bumpy in 3 sections.
Air ride seat hydro. Works great. I notice for years I woud cut AT 6,5 mph most of the time which seemed fast to me considering the bumps. Just cruising.
I also noticed the last 2 years that while mowing I was meandering at 3.4 to 4 mph and enjoying it more while relaxing. I just must have found a more peaceful time of my life for reflection and daydreaming.

Beating my body up going fast with my zero turn isn't much fun. Going slower on the tractor with much bigger tires to smooth out the ride makes it much more enjoyable to me.

Chain fell off. Hit it with the deck. Jammed the engine to a stop so fast the block cracked.
Good lesson in not modifying and maintaining the shear bolt / slip clutch mechanism on the PTO shaft.

Tough transmission though.
