Price Check Worth of a Ford 8N (that caught itself on fire)

I wouldn't say a rare tractor is always more valuable than a high production one. Sure some like a UDLX are, in any condition, but high production tractors got to be high production tractors because people wanted them. Tractors like my 135 hold their value and are still very desirable. Fully restored 135's can sell for 3 or 4 times the original price. There's a couple places in the UK that completely refurbish 135's and they sell for big bucks!

fully restored fords can be had form ncomplete for a huge premium. IE.. like the price of 3 otherwise great condition machines. or the price of 4 good workers!

that's because the shop has to make a profit on them too.

sure you can take an otherwise rareish or less common machine and then defile it and it can be cheap too.

I've bought a machine that went swimming in katrina. I paid probably a quarter of it's otherwise normal sales value.

mind you i had to flush silt out of all the sumps! All in all.. I'm real happy about that machine.. even with the work it took. did have to make a few custom parts.. but that is part of the fun!
