Xfaxman, wouldn't that have been a good day to keep the equipment in the barn?:)

That is no fun! :D

It was the first time I had been in that area after a heavy rain.

We used to have a couple of places at the last place we lived, where it was a good idea to avoid for several days after a rain. Sometimes actual springwater could be seen coming up.

Here's what I like about my B7200. I ran all around this pond bank with a sickle bar mower and never got stuck. My other machines would have been buried several times over. This is a light weight machine with large tires. It just float over anything but the sloppiest mud without sinking. I've never found anywhere this tractor wouldn't go. I was going to cut the rest of those cat tails in the first picture, but I already had the tractor out in the water so I decided to quit while I was ahead. image-809949336.jpg image-3937524168.jpg image-1685734898.jpg

When you only have R4s what else do you do? Try it and hope for the best.
Your ag tires wouldn't have done any better if not worse. I never spun. I hit a soft spot and suddenly sunk. The front axel sunk up and once that happens you aren't driving out without assistance. I was very close to not driving out without removing the bush hog. If it had sunk up any more the cutter would have been buried. I'll take my B7200 places no other machine I have will go and it has turfs. I've had a L2550 with ags and a L3130 with ags. I've been stuck more on those tractors than the current tractors with R4s.
BTW, you need to take another look through this thread. The majority of the equipment had either tracks or R1s.

My 4yr old drove his battery powered tractor down one of the trails and came running back up to the house...

"[crying] I wanted to see if the blueberries were ripe and it got suck! I tried putting it in reverse and pulling on it! It won't move!"

About 1/3 of a mile down we found his tractor in the ferns. In his mind it was stuck forever.

That's great we've all been there. Love it

Ha Ha, sucks when your stuck. BTW the blueberries ripe?

No. Not in months and it was a bad year. Usually we have more wild blueberries than we know what to do with. Not sure what made him think of them. I guess he was snackey?

His explorations are currently banned. Deer season. Too many idiots with guns.

Thats pretty funny and a new one for the worst stuck thread. Did you get the tractor to pull him out? I think I may have just for the fun of it!

That would have been great, and have the kid hook the rope up to his stuck machine. He would have remembered that for years.

Good job! You got to train'em early these days. I remember that day me and Daddy decided to take that road down to Dead River. Spent the whole day getting unstuck. One of the best days of my life!

Not my best performance ever, but the only one I have pictures of. I was mulching along the property line, and had already been through the area twice with no indication of a softspot. On the way back out, the machine just dropped on the left side to about a 35 degree angle (makes for a pretty good jostle inside the cab!)

Once we got it out, there was a small vein of grey, sticky clay and a little bit of sand with hard, dry dirt all the way around it, just wide enough for my track to take a dive in when the topsoil gave way. I left the hole for two days and it never got more than half an inch or so of water in the bottom of it. Now it's packed in with good, hard dirt.

When I went in, there was no indication of water. After getting the backhoe and trying to dig it out, I found some water. Then it rained and this is what it looked like the next morning. If I'd known then, what I know now, I could've easily winched it out the first day with a chain hooked between the grousers. I've used that trick a couple of times since.
