Worried about sticking BX pedal

I am seriously considering purchasing a BX 23 for our hilly (make that pretty steep) 67 acres in Western WV. After reading posts on this forum for several weeks, I'm getting concerned about the sticking pedal issue on the BX. Is this a commom problem? Is it bad enough to warrant a different tractor? Are dealers fixing it? I live 1 1/2 hours from our dealer and don't want to be running back and forth since our county road is sometimes impassable with a 4x4 truck, let alone a trailer. I really want a hoe and something easy to switch implements on. Uses will be mainly accessing old logging roads to get firewood, cleaning out creeks and ditches, maintaining a creek ford, and cultivating a 1 acre garden. Mowing is also planned but our mowable areas are pretty uneven, hilly and confined. I currently use a gravely and riding mower, both of which I'd like to "retire" soon.
Help !! I'd like to buy this spring. My husband looks at it as a toy to indulge his crazy wife, but I really think I can acomplish some things with it that he can't forsee at this time.

I would still buy the BX23 and I am very pleased with my BX22. It is not that huge a deal but enough to be worried about.

Yes, Kubota knows about it and the dealers are trying to fix.

I think I have read about a sticking pedal on every forum at one time or another. I would not be concerned about it. While there is talk of it on the forums, I have never heard one customer complain about it.

Will a sub-compact have the ground clearance to get in and out of the areas you need to go?

I WOULD be concerned since it is a safety issue and KUBOTA is well aware of it .

I have heard many people complain about it since I called the dealer and when they tell me what to do and what they have to do to my BX22, they know there is a problem. I am not alone if a small dealer and Kubota Corp knows about it.

Most of my seat time on my BX2200 has been non-mowing. I learned to have my right foot on the pedal, so if I need to stop/reverse, it's heal action. I guess if my pedal sticks, I don't even know it as my foot compensates for it.

However, when I lift my foot off, it goes to neutral (stop), so I guess it is working.

Some people have pedals that stick. Some don't. How many of each how can we know? The wheel that squeeks gets the oil...we hear about the sticking ones...that is just natural.

Now on my BX2200 my pedal was not sticking, but became slow to return to center. So the tractor drifted rather than came to a sudden stop. I lubed the linkage last fall, and it then immediately returned to center, producing an almost neck-snapping stop. Much faster stop than on my B2910. Like slamming the brakes on.

So...my guess is that the problem is not a huge percent of the BX tractors sold...but that is just a guess.

iwould talk to the dealer u are thinking of buying from and get the scop from him, also u might want to consider the ground clearence for some of the tasks u have in mind.

'Agree with the others...not really a big problem. Mine was a little sluggish like Henro mentioned, but is isn't since it was lubed.

But I also share the ground clearance concern. I know when I take my BX22 into the woods, I pay very careful attention to where I drive, especially with the 'hoe on board. It's designed really well for the "estate" crowd, but not necessarily ideal for rough country. The B-series may be better, despite the change in how a 'hoe mounts, if you really need the ground clearance.

I really appreciate all the suggestions and comments to my questions. Ground clearance and slope stability may be the two most important factors now. I 'm going to check into the B series a little more. I also really want a hoe. How does that affect ground clearance and stability on slopes? Does one need the weight to balance the FEL? Which B model is most likely to have the best combination of clearance and stabilty? Is the hydrostatic transmission good for hills?

Please keep the good answers coming. I really have learned a lot from this forum.
