Workmaster 35, wont go into gear

2013 workmaster 35, in down in the field. Was doing some bush hogging/shredding, has been at it over an hour. I backed up in reverse th turn tight, when I put it in forward nothing happened. The shift lever moves and I can feel the detents in forward neutral and reverse. But it won't move. Locked the clutch pedal in place and got off, when I turned the forward reverse lever into forward tractor shut off. Go back on and it started right up.
