I wonder what kind/specs of pumps they have to drain those dry docks? It's not like a lock that can be drained down. They have to be pumped out. Just curious.

At the power plant we had 4 pumps (2 for each unit) that were high voltage 4160V and 4000 hp if memory serves correct. They were used to pump Mississippi river water to cool the steam.

Took my Grandkids up and rode the trains at the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum. Just a short loop around the park, but still fun to see these old trains run. Once we get up there full time, I plan to volunteer up there and help keep them going. Engine #5, built in 1875. Belonged to Universal studios for a while and has been used in over 100 movies. Over the last few years the crew at the museum have restored it to full running condition. The history of the NCNGRR is interesting and the museum has a lot to see and learn about this little 22 mile gold rush railroad.
