If you’re referring to track, Might be going up in your area, but in my area, there’s more existing track getting ripped out than new getting laid down.
Industries served by rail going out of business.

Could be, large port in Seattle keeps a lot of stuff going thru the area.

A crazy long coal consist shown (per title) at ~4:00 into this video. Two up front, four in the middle/somewhere, and five banking.

All working hard too.... Warren is making money on that move....

I've ridden this train in different seasons. At Halloween time there are many scary exhibits along it's tracks. At Christmas time someone will start singing a carol and everybody seems to join in. It's a great place to take kids anytime.

As many times as I've been to Flint delivering steel to GM, I had no idea about the steam train, where is it exactly? Nice rolling stock and restored town too.

Western Maryland rail trail. Goes from Big pool thru Hancock md to little orleans. South of little orleans the WMRR is not developed as a trail, but crossed the river several times and has several tunnels. There’s a closed tunnel in this video at around 17 min mark.

I saw this mural with 4014 on a building in Laramie, Wyoming. I couldn’t get the whole train in the picture.
