Working rail roads and their tracks.

Retirement is at 62
I had neighbor with 40 years seniority laid off from Conrail.
When I worked on Mississippi coast the local railroad crew was based out of West Virginia.
Some pitfalls of railroad work
Sometimes I think if I could have done it all over again, I would have worked on the railroad. I’m fascinated with them and the benefits pension is excellent.

Here's a link to the TV show. https://www.rfdtv.com/trains-and-locomotives If you are into trains it's kind of interesting. I have it set to record and have seen at least 15 now without any repeating shows. One of them was on snow plows in Canada. They had video footage of a plow and the engines pushing it trying to ram a drift in an epic fail. It was back in the early 70s so not the greatest video but the engineers were repeatedly trying to clear a drift. On their last attempt the plow hit some ice and flipped up and landed on top of one of the engines pushing it. Didn't see it on YouTube.

Interesting
Thanks for sharing
I truly appreciate what these people do moving freight & passengers and the sacrifices our ancestors made to clear the paths, push in the roadbeds and lay the tracks.

Here is photos of the 2 engines I got to ride on. These are not photos I took, just some I found of the same swtich engines. Sometimes when you worked as a carmen, you helped move cars around. On the blue one, I actually worked to rebuild its cab.
