IS IT REALLY LOUD WHERE YOU ARE? IF IT IS, I'LL KEEP SHOUTING SO YOU CAN READ THIS.

All kidding aside, welcome to TBN! I have a BX22 that I rigged the same way. You should be fine with that setup and the stock dynamo. I've use my lights and headlights at the same time for hours at a time while shovelling snow without any problems.

I don't think you will have a problem as long as you don't run any other high draw equipment at the same time. I think two 55 watt lights draw about 11 amps. I run one 55 watt halogen on the rear with the same hookup as you. I can run it along with the headlights and flashers and I have had no problems.

I run (2) 55 watt facing forward and (1) facing rearward on my BX1800 with the stock alternator and have had no issues. I don't run the stock lights at the same time, but do sometimes run the flashers when near the road.

Randy, do those lights have a magnetic base?

Do you have any pics of your plow and receiver hitch? I'm just curious about how you put it together.

The basic formula used is P=I*E or watts=amps * voltage. Using basic math to solve the equation when amps is the unknown, you would have amps=watts divided by voltage.

So for two 55w bulbs you would have an amp draw of just over 9 amps. Three 55w bulbs would draw about 13.75 amps.

I believe the standard dynamo on the Kubota's is 14 amps. Exceeding a 14 amp draw will discharge the battery faster than the dynamo can recharge it.

Funny, but I just came to the site to see if anyone hooked up a light recently. I just hooked up a 35Watt to my ROPS, but using a seperate bracket. My tractor will not fit in the garage with the ROPS up, so I use it with it down. In fact the bracket is removavble because with it mounted it is too high to get in my 7 foot door. I know I shouldn't run with the ROPS down, but it just gets in the way too much. I spliced my light into the rear running lights so I could use the main switch.

Question - I gues Kubota does not use a grounded system since there are two wires to all the lights. The light I bought was for a grounded system. I connected the ground to the light mounting screws. Any comments?

Two things: Just went outside and tried the single 35 Watt light - Wow! Last winter I blew my 1/4 mile driveway using the light from the amber turn signals with the 35W light I think I will enjoy this much more.

Also, I got my Fluke out and verified that the wires under my B7800 seat are for accesories and the Black is grounded to the chasis, so I take back what I said about an ungrounded system. I guess they just want to make sure of a good circuit which will not be affected by corrosion.

I look forward to the first snow - oh yeah and the last in May too! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
