Just thought I'd give an update.

I decided to wait till after opening weekend; let all the excitement settle. With all the talk about stray bullets (that was always in the back of my mind anyway); working on the pond didn't seem that important after all.

Have been putting off this thread, but now that I have read it and see you are in Texas, a couple of comments:

Bowhunting season started three weeks ago.

If your land is fenced and somebody is hunting without permission, that is tresspassing. If it is posted, that is poaching. Get to know your local game warden, those guys are extremely bada$$ here.

I live in the harshest law enforcement county in Texas (Williamson). That said, I would rather deal with a half dozen agitated Deputies than one slightly annoyed state Game Warden. Those guys are allowed to go anywhere, do anything and shoot anybody.

I know bow season has already been going on. I haven't been able to get out to the place with the tractor to do any work for that long. That is why I was kinda wanting to go but like I said I decided to wait. I'm going to try to get away a couple of days this week. Shouldn't be as many hunters around that way.

I haven't had an issue with trespassers on this piece of property. It was on my last place that I caught the guy with his son. I sold that place during the divorce; still kicking myself for selling it.

Final note, I agree about the game wardens. I know that they have more "power" than city or county law enforcement and I think even DPS. I have to say however, I know most of the local ones and they are as nice as can be; unless you rile them...
