I Have a year 2000 woods rear mower and it has worked fine for years. At some point last year I thought it was losing power. It usually roars to life as soon as I pull out the PTO switch...so much so that I actually feel a pull as it goes up to top speed. However, it seemed to not be getting up to top speed last year but was still doing the job.
This year I got behind in my mowing so the grass got high and I definitely noticed a lack of power even when I cut it 2-3 times lowering the deck with each passing cut.
I got under the deck today and noticed that at some point, I had run over a nylon dog lease and it has wrapped itself around one of the spindles. I freed it but now I am wondering what kind of damage it could have done to the spindles or anything else while it was all wrapped up.
I also spun the center blade by hand and I noticed that it can spin independent of the spindle.....should I tighten that bolt down more?
If you have any experience with this type situation, please chime in.
Thanks
