why is my 72' (farily new) Woods RC spewing oil out of the vent cap on top of the gear box? it's not a lot but enough that it's running down the sides of the gear box.

Is it over filled? If not I've hear folks say it could be getting hot. Does it do it after a few minutes or when IRS been run awhile?

good questions. I'll have to check to see when it starts to come out. I think I'll let it run without mowing to see how long it takes to come out.

I have that problem with a Phoenix. Shouldn't have to come up with a solution to solve the problem on a new mower:mad:

First make sure it is not overfull. Take look at where the vent is located. If the vent is directly over the input gear the oil splash from the gear can go up the vent. If the bolt pattern on the cover is uniform, remove the cover and rotate it 90 or 180 degrees to move the vent away from the gear.
