I'm looking to replace my 25+ year old 60" rotary mower. I've had good luck with my Land Pride, but I can get a Woods on sale for almost $500 cheaper. I've heard good things about Woods from a couple of friends. Looking for any input from owners of either, Thanks.

Just sold a Woods batwing mower. It was trouble free for years and I'm sure the guy that owns it now will have the same experience

I'm not familiar with either brand. I have a King Kutter I've been using for fifteen years. It's built like a TANK!! I'm sure it'll be around long after I'm gone.

I have Land Pride and it has worked well. Also, like you, I have heard good things about Woods mowers. I think either brand would meet your needs as long as you bought the correct model for your work.

I own both brands and really don't have a preference. Right now my primary cutters are a LPRCR2672 on my L5740HSTC and Woods DS1260. Our renter keeps his 15' bat-wings in our barn, he has two and swears by them. Look up a thread by Eric the Oracle, I believe his 6' Woods is in the same class as my 2672 and I really like it.

If you have not looked at Bad Boy cutters, they are very well built.

manufacturers have different grades of cutters within their brand. They make lightweight and heavy duty ones. Apples and oranges. If you wanna take the guesswork out of it, get the heavy duty and run the dickens out of it. In the long run the best is the best and not necessarily the cheaper one. What's five bills over the next twenty years? You can always find less expensive stuff but often not the quality you might demand.

Ive owned both brands. My landpride mower outlasted woods 3x longer and has had less break downs. Landpride would be my only vote. More HD, better built and more serviceable than the woods unit.

I've also owned both. I generally like Woods products but the mower was constantly breaking belts. The Land-pride has been trouble free for over 500 hours so far.
