The drive shaft to my Woods mower wouldn't pull back from the over-running clutch far enough to disconnect the mower from the tractor. So, I just drove the tractor forward to free the mower drive shaft. I disassembled the sleeve around the mower drive shaft in an attempt to see what was causing the problem. No cause was apparent so I am now saddled with a thorny problem of trying to reassemble. There is a circular retaining spring with 3 "humps" on it which pass through slots in the sleeve to keep it from sliding. The hump can be seen in the 1st pic just above the flat surface on a grease covered plastic ring. I can't figure out how the sleeve slides over the retaining spring for the humps to mesh with the slots in the sleeve seen in the 2nd pic.
