Does anyone have experience with the Woods Ditch bank mower DBH5.30? I've been considering offset flail mowers, but I have enough brush, and unknown underlying rocks, I think a rotary would do a better job (at least less maintenance for me). I have approx 4.6 miles of roadway and woods line to mow. Land Pride and Hardee make similar mowers, but I've seen better deals on some Woods.

Tractor is a Case 75A with loader. Rear wheel weights and filled tires. Machine weight is about 9K pounds I believe. 75HP engine, 60HP PTO, which is the minimum size listed for the Woods DBH.

Found a great deal on a one year old used DBH5.30. Drove 6 hours each way yesterday to bring it home.

I have about 5 more acres to mow with my 8' mounted brush cutter before switching over to the ditch bank mower, but I'm excited to try it out. I'll update after it's cut some ditch banks.

Ditch bank mower connected and ready to roll. Still have some adjusting to do to get it level though.

Here's a short video of the mower in operation. IMG_4196.MOV - Google Drive

It worked great. I have 4 different sections of creek bank I used it on, as well as the road. I turned it up 90 perpendicular to the ground and trimmed some tree branches back from the edge of the road too. So far no complaints. If the area is flat, you can almost set it and forget it. But many of the areas I cut had a drop off here and there, which caused the outside gauge wheel to drop, putting the blades in the dirt. It'll take a little figuring out where I can cut short and where I can't but luckily this slightly used mower came with a spare set of blades. :)
