Does anyone know the weight of the Woods BX80-X backhoe? I can't find it anywhere in the Woods literature.
I'll bet that is w/o the bucket. I would guess its a little over 1000lbs with bucket. I downloaded the manual and even it didn't include the weight. Most competing hoes of that size weigh about 1000+lbs with a standard 16-18" bucket. Does your loader manual give a recommended ballast? Some do. Having the grapple won't increase the load carried, though it might increase the chance of an off-centered load.mrutkaus said:850lb pretty sure; the 70X weighs only 50lbs less.

It is heavy enough that the front end feels much lighter than with just a mower. I'll end up adding some front weight in addition to the FEL just to make it balance better. The Kioti is heavier I think than the 3400 so I would advise thinking about the weight balance issue issue with the 80X too.
By the way, I love the BH. I'm thinking of getting a ripper tooth fabricated to make smaller stump removal faster and less destructive.
