Looking for advice regarding a Woods BH70-X backhoe.

- Does the Woods 4-point frame hold it as good as a Kubota backhoe?
- Does it install and remove as nicely as the kubota backhoe?
- Does the Woods backhoe frame get "in the way" or cause any problems?
- Any other comments regarding the Woods BH70-X backhoe?

TIA!!

One of the things that customers have repeated time after time again after using both is the controls on the Kubota seem smoother and allows the operator to have better control of the actions.

I've a woods BH70X on my B7610.
The frame holds VERY well. I have not had a Kubota BH to compare it to. Installation is a breeze IF you get everything lined up. It hasn't "got in the way at all.

I went with the Woods because the only Kubota offering looked like a wimp compared to it. I am now planning on getting a mount for my M4700, it will be a bit small but should do.

There was a thread here about mounting a hydraulic thumb.

Mine worked fine. I had a Woods 750 on a B7800. Make sure you get
the high strength top link bracket. It adds a few more bolts to the
attaching point on the rear end and adds some peace of mind.

I know you are asking about Kubota. But, in my own research I was looking at the Woods BH90-X for a McCormick X10.50M tractor. I was also looking at a Mahindra 5035 with THEIR 595 backhoe. And this is what I came up with:

Woods BH90-X
109" digging depth
145" reach
4180 ftlbs bucket force
2900 ftlbs dipper force

Mahindra 595
115" digging depth
154" reach
5701 ftlbs bucket force
3188 ftlbs dipper force

You can see the Mahindra backhoe is the better unit by the specs. Real world application I have no clue. So the same may apply to your application. I would have to go with the Woods BH1050 unit to get better specs if I went with the McCormick tractor. B.

Thanks a lot ModMech that video was good to see. Yes art they show how the woods controls are biased differently and not as smooth. Which is important for me as I don't have time to become an expert it's a different task every time I get on the tractor. I don't have spectators or Youtube, or make money on a bid,,,, just a list of stuff to get done as best I can.

Interesting how low and "rear-extended" the Woods is, it appears to limit the 'departure angle' (rear). Something hanging far out there can be a problem for turning around. My road is cut into a hillside, I sometimes have to travel pretty far just to turn around with the little BX backhoe!

Well anyway they are all better than a shovel. I'm trying to get a sense sense if saving $2-3 thousand by opting for Woods is worthwhile.
