New Holland TC30
Hello Everyone,

I' am once again asking for the opinion of some of the most knowledgeable NH guys on the planet. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I recently purchased a new TC30 with a 7308 FEL which I think is great but........
I have a Yanmar YBH-660 backhoe (3 PT Mount) which I previously used on my Ford 1210 tractor. To my dismay I don't think my backhoe will work properly with my new TC30. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifThe 3 point is much stronger than the little tractor. I actually bent the 3 point pins when trying to get the linkage to bind up. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I don't trust my well being to this setup so I've been checking out other backhoes with sub frames and just as I thought they seem a bit more than I can justify paying for my time to time usage.
I came across a used Woods 7500 backhoe with a sub frame to fit my tractor for $4800.00 at my local NH dealer. He has quoted me $2000.00 trade on my YBH-660 BH which I think sounds like a fair price.
Do you think that $4800.00 is a fair price for the Woods backhoe. I didn't think it was a terrible deal. The backhoe is a 2003 model that has seen very little use. You can easily see the Gannon print on the side of the buckets and as a plus the BH comes with 2 buckets.(12" and 24") /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I have to give him an answer soon because as we all know used backhoes in good shape do not last long. The dealer did tell me he just quoted someone today on a used tractor with that backhoe
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Again

That price is about $1000-1500 less than new. I think I would go for it. Is it self contained or do you need to add remotes on you tractor? $$$$.

I see you are from PA. If this happens to be at a NH dealer in Tamaqua, I'd buy it! It sounds just like the one I traded in there a few weeks ago. I had a woods 7500 on my 1510 Ford. It was an excellent piece of machinery, I still like it better than the 758c I got with the new tractor, but Woods does not make a mount to fit the TC33DA. I had the 12" and 24" buckets and bought it new May 2, 2003 from Wengers in Myerstown. With the extra bucket, the new cost was $6226.44. See the attachment for what I used it for.

Hi Jsheds,

WOW, thats a stump. Thanks for the demo. Great Pic

I'll be dipped. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif What a Quinkie Dink. As a matter of fact it was at a dealer near Tamaqua. They just picked up my tractor today to install the 7500. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I can tell that you're old BH had little use. It does seem like a gem. I'm very glad you replied to this post. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I've been racking my brains between this Woods BH and a new NH BH, /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif but you now put that to rest. The only downfall is the old NH blue but hey, doesn't make it dig any different. My old BH was manufatured for Yanmar by Woods and I was very satisfied. Is that all you used it for(Digging out stumps)? What did you think of the subframe? Did the BH have alot of free movement when attached to the tractor? Did it require a top link to? Hate to ask so many questions but you would be the best to ask. Did it seem to have a fair amount of swing force with the single cylinder versus your dual aft cylinders?
I think I made the right choice. I traded in my R4's for the turfs and they credited me the extra cost I paid when I bought the tractor new since it has less than 20 Hrs on it. I had turfs before and I think they will do just find for all around projects.
How do you like the new TC33DA compared to the old one? I wish you lots of luck with it.
If you don't mind me asking, what did they give you for the 7500 when you traded it up?
How did you like the service there? So far I'am pleased.
Where in Eastern Pa are you from. I'am from Pine Grove area.
Well hope to see you here again in the future. Thanks for your time to reply to my post. I will be able to sleep better tonight. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Need to run hoses to front manifold and rear sump. Just a $75.00 fix. It should be fine off the tractor Hyd since I'm not planning on using it everyday.

Hank,
I'm in the process of building a garage/workshop. I've been using the tractor and backhoe for digging the stumps and trenches for the footings. I was amazed at what that little backhoe would do, most of the stumps were from 90' Yellow Poplar and White Ash trees that were about 24" in diameter, the stumps were huge!

The backhoe was very solid, no slop in the mounts at all, no top link required on my tractor, but I saw that the TC33D mount did use one. Installation and removal was a breeze once you got the hang of it. I did have to remove my 3-point hithch thought, which was a pain. It had enough swing force to push some dirt around, but not a lot. My NH 758c is no better at that. They gave me a $4800 credit on the new machine. But the trade was for a TC33DA, 14LA loader and 758c backhoe, so there was plenty of room for profit in the package. The new 33DA is a dream, it has power steering! That and 15 HP more than the old one. Makes loader work a whole lot easier. What took me an hour with the gear drive 1510 and manual steering I can now do in 15 minutes.

What little service has been required was excellent. When I first tried the backhoe, it wouldn't lift the rear tires off the ground with the stabilizers. Not a problem unless you're on a bit of a side slope and want to dig a vertical trench. I called the service dept. on friday afternoon and a mechanic was here on Monday morning. I live near Quakertown, so it's not like I'm right down the street. I was impressed. The second service call was to install my remote valve that had been on back order, I was pleased with the service I got both times. I don't think that I got the best deal around for my trade-in, or the tractor, but so far I'm happy with the dealer. Have fun with your new toy.

We are a woods dealer and recently decided to move to Bradco's because the mounts have less slop. Bradco is reguarded to be a better hoe and if you order in truck load quanities they are only marginly more expensive.

My dealer told me the new Woods "4 pt hitch" subframe for the TC33D/DA should be out in about a month or so. I've got a used Woods 7500 BH I picked up last fall. It was a 3 pt hitch mount. I've been waiting for the new subframe to come out before I really gave it a workout.

I talked to Wood's tech support about 2 months ago before I decided to trade in the woods. They told me they had no mount for the 33DA and haven't even seen the tractor yet. They did mention going to a 4 point mount, but had no idea when they might get around to designing one or building one for the 33DA. I figured I'd just trade mine in on the NH model.

Hi Jim,

Guess you have luck like mine. As soon as you think you did something right it turns up the opposite of what you had thought. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Do you regret trading in the woods?
I did buy it. I'am waiting for the dealer to get done with the initial install and some other mods while the tractor is in.
Did you have an owners manuel for the backhoe? I didn't ask them yet but just thought I would ask you if you don't mind.
Well, gotta go work. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Thanks again Jim,
