Looking at adding one to my L3010 in the near future. Definitely will go with the subframe. My dealer assures me the output of my hydraulic remotes will handle the hoe even without the pump. I'm leaning toward getting the pump anyway. What's your experience?

Is $6150 for the hoe, pump, subframe, pickup, installation and return to my home a fair price? Is there any other hoe within a reasonable distance of that price I ought to be looking at?

Pete, did you get a quote on the Woods 9000? When I was looking at the L3010 the dealer suggested it for the longer reach (don't have to move the tractor as often). I don't recall the difference in price but I question whether you need the seperate pto pump. I have a NH 1920 with a NH 758C hoe(it is an 8 1/2 foot hoe) that runs off the tractor hydraulics. Haven't had any problems with it. Just some info to think about it. Good luck.

The 9000 is a little too big for the 3010,it would be a better match on a 3710 or larger,Go with the 7500GB If you want sub frame mount try Walts equipment,Berlin VT,Jim is fair to deal with

My dealer told me I could purchase a Kubota 4690 with choice of bucket for $6300.This includes pump. I did some pricing for the 7500. It was about $5-600.00 less than the 4690.
With pickup and delivery your price is not far off.
What size bucket are you getting?
If your mower is a MMM you may have interference from the Woods sub frame.
Your tractor should be able to handle the next size up backhoe.
Give Carver a call. There is not much to putting a 4690 backhoe on your tractor.

Thanks. Walt's is where I got that price. As for the Kubota hoe, my ground is pretty rough. The thought of traversing bumpy ground with the weight of the bh on one end and a bucketful of damp dirt on the other makes me a little nervous.

Pete, If your ground is rough, consider that the Woods subframe really cuts down on the ground clearance. I have seen it cut the clearance in half on some tractor models. That is one of the reasons I went with the Kubota hoe. I haven't heard of any Kubota hoe breaking a Kubota tractor due to bumpy ground or any other reason, although I do drive slower when I carry a heavy load.

Pete, I think going with tractor hydraulics is just fine, and should knock off $500 or so from the price.

What about the 9000? Is it recommended for a 3010 or just the larger models?

If you are interested in a 9000, I know where there's a used one. Drop me a note if you want to explore it.

I have the Woods 7500 and am very happy with it...subframe does reduce grond clearance but hasn't been a problem...I went with the tractor hydraulics and have found that to be okay..if you get the PTO pump, be sure to change the oil frequently as it's a self-contained system...I have a 13 inch bucket and have found it perfect for my needs..great for footers, dropping line or pipe, etc... the whole system removes in about 5 minutes...very easy...

Pete, I have Cub Cadet BH with a subframe on my 7260. It is a Woods 7500 painted to match the Cub. 7.5' digging depth, with a 16" bucket. I had rear remotes installed and use the tractor hydraulics. I recommend using the tractor hydraulics as having the rear remotes can be used for other implements, and if you are using the hoe hard, you have a larger reservoir of hydraulic fluid than you would if you were using just a PTO pump and a smaller reservoir on the hoe. The larger reservoir means less heat build up. It works real well. The subframe will cost you about 2.5" of ground clearance. The price you were quoted is about what I paid for mine. You are welcome to come up and take mine for a spin if you want.

Corm -- Thanks; I might take you up on that offer! Sure would like to see it mounted and dismounted so I can see what's involved

Jim -- I guess I thought using the tractor hydraulics would result in slow operations, but it looks like my output is one gpm greater than the PTO pump provides. The loss of clearance doesn't worry me that much since where I'll be using the hoe is relatively flat anyway.

Peter -- My dealer says the 9000 is too big for an L3010. He recommends at least the 3710 for that model. But thanks for thinking of me.
