I am building a new shop (27x24') to replace an old worn out carport. I am getting close to time to trim it out and start to put siding up. As far as siding I am going to use Hardi-plank. I wanted to trim it out with wood from my friends sawmill. I have my choice of oak, pine or poplar. My question is am I just inviting years of battling the carpenter bees if I use lots of freshly dried wood trim and accents in shops finish? I love the more rustic look, but I do not want to deal with carpenter bees for years to come. Any advice?
