Hello guys, I am building a pavilion and it happen to have White Ash in my firewood log pile so I was tempted to mill some Ash for the posts and the beams. I do not know if that was a mistake as I cannot find any data online.
I took the risk anyway since I am using 6 8x8” posts on a 24’x16’ pavilion. 8x8” for the beams too at 12’ span. It sounds like overkill but it sure will look massive!

Anyway, to my question. There are so many products out there for wood preservation. Which one should I go with? I love the white grain I do not want to turn to grey or yellow. So I guess something with UV inhibitors, but which one? There so many types of products. I just want to preserve the wood and the color of the wood.
Here are some pics. I just plane some, the look sooo nice. You can see the rough cut ones have already started to fade.

Now that I thinking of the splits that have been developed, how about to put some fluorescent epoxy in there?? Hmm! I hope it will stop splitting at some point before it will be structurally inadequate!
