After what felt like FOREVAH, I finally got my tractor back from having the HST re-sealed.. (well, i did have to walk to the neighbor's place to get it, after the dealer's driver left it at the WRONG HOUSE..)

It's quieter, runs better than ever, and, as it turns out, in as-delivered form, the HST pedal stops were set wrong, which was causing problems with overheating the fluid.. From what the dealer tells me, when the stops are too high, not only does the tractor go too slow, but the swash plates don't get fully covered by fluid, thereby overheating the fluid. So, now it's faster, goes better, has more torque, and, will hopefully be easier on it's hyd fluid.. Whee, nice to be back in the saddle!

Kris glad you got your beast back in time to enjoy it for the summer. Man it's 102 here now according to my digital outside thermostat but your snow picture made me feel a lot cooler, thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

LOL.. it's hot enough here to breed sheep too.. I drove past my snow blower, and though briefly of how much fun it is when it's -15f and I'm trying to breathe.. then I jumped in the kid's pool... Luckily the tractor did not mind one bit about the heat.. I pushed it pretty hard too.

I really do need a new sig pic, don't I..

Maybe a summer and a winter picture and then just rotate them. How about one with your tractor in the kiddie pool cooling off from the summer heat?

Maybe I'm missing something, but is that to imply that if we don't push our pedals all the way to full speed - which I rarely do in any range - that we are overheating the swash plates and fluids?

Something doesn't make sense there, or I'm missing something. That's never happened before /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

That's just what he told me.. I don't know enough about how the HST works to begin to decipher it.
