I picked up several ft. of elect fence wire with my bh. To remove it I needed to jack it up. I removed the top link and attached a chain from the fel to the back of the bh when I raised the fel it raised the bh about 2 ft which was all I needed. with a high jack and some high jack stand I felt this was safe. What are some of your opinions on using the fel to raise the bh Was it safe or was I just lucky. I had a helper standing by just in case.

You used the FEL to lift the cutter, then used jackstands to support the cutter? But, the FEL wasn't actually supporting the cutter, correct? In other words, all the weight was on those fixed jackstands.
Sounds OK if I'm reading it right...

Nice idea to have that helper standing by. He or she could have called the coroner if the cutter had fallen.
