I had not used the rear wiper on a GL5240, and today I needed it to clear snow. The arm seems to be indexed to park the blade off the glass, and the blade catches there, stalling the wiper. I am hoping that removing the arm, turning the wiper on then off to cause it to park, and re-installing the arm in the correct position on the glass will fix it.

I cannot see how to remove the arm from the drive shaft to reset the park location. Opening the arm past it's normal open position did not seem to free it from the drive shaft.

Any arm-removal or other suggestions will be appreciated.

That's how I would do it.

If it's like any wiper I've seen, there's a small spring tab on the wiper arm that snaps over the driveshaft's splined hub when you push the arm onto the hub. To remove the arm, use a small screwdriver to pry the tab outwards to clear the hub and at the same time (maybe using a larger screwdriver) pry the wiper arm off the splined hub.

Good luck with it.

I found it. The arm mounts on a tapered spline secured by a nut. The outer arm cover will pivot up, exposing the nut. The nut had come loose on mine. Photos attached to assist others.

Looks like a good place for a lock nut with a nylon insert.

Well now, I've never seen one quite like that. Glad you got er done, and thanks for posting the pics. Like BeezFun says, a good place for a lock nut.
