Actually i like the cold, crisp air , and i can tolerate it better than stagnant heat of summer.

I also like the fact that the honeydo lists drop off to near zero.....and i can plant my *** in front of the computer or tv or fireplace (or all 3 at same time) and im left alone.

Also NO bugs and the dogs stay cleaner.

I really enjoy hooking up the team of Fjord horses to the sleigh ... if i ever get any &^^%$#$@ snow this season.

Well so far this year it's been high 50's at night and high 70's during the day.
very little precipitation but enough so I don't have to stress about it.
What's not to like?

1) Gives the ground a chance to refresh so bumper crops can be produced the next season with little fertilizer and the deep frost eliminates soil compaction completely.
2) The cold is nice for working outdoors without working up a sweat.
3) The snow cover makes everything beautiful.
4) Ice-skating, Snowmobiling, Skiing, Rabbit hunting, Ice fishing.
5) Snuggling with the wife on the carpet in front of the woodstove.
6) Dragging logs up from the woods over the frozen ground and not leaving any ruts.
* The South is a great place to visit for a few days every so often but I sure am glad I dont have to live there.

When it snows, it is so beautiful when everything is white.

The silence at my house outside at night.

Sled riding with my daughters and pulling them behind the 4-wheeler.

Plenty of OT at work plowing snow

watching the kids get all excited about a school "snow day" !!!!

NO BUGS!
Working outside and not sweating so heavily that it runs into your eyes and burns.
Pulling the kids and grand kids on sleds behind the RTV.
The Holidays, brings the family together.
The beauty of a new fallen snow and the quiet.
Feeding and watching the birds.
Curling up next to the stove with a good book.
Not having to mow grass and have the Black Flies, Buffalo Gnats and Horse Flies eat you alive.
Felling trees for heat and wood working.
Did I mention NO BUGS!

Writing my name in the snow with out a pen or a pencil! :D

I started the thread about winter time peeves, and am pleased another member started this one, boy I can think of a LOT of things I like about winter:

No bugs outside, no pesky birds or varmints raiding my garden.

No sky-high A/C bills.

No scorching temps or high humidity or worries about getting sunburned or dehydrated.

No struggling to keep up with the 5 acre yard, or the 1,000 square foot garden, in heat and humidity.

I have a LOT of snow weapons, and I love to play with them.

Not having to keep up with the outdoor tasks give me time for woodworking, fixing things indoors, and best of all, spending more time with the wife and our four cats.

I can pig out and gain weight, because I know I will work it off when spring comes around again. Even have time to watch TV, something I rarely do the rest of the year.

Winter usually makes me appreciate summer more...and vice versa.

Best of all, winter makes me really appreciate being retired, no having to scrape the car, drive to work on the slick roads, and deal with the too-short days.

At my age, in cold weather, I don't even try to do that because the ink tends to smear....
