It is the first week of January, and we've had about 140" of snow so far (It is dry snow, or "champagne powder"). I promised a report on the Latitude X-Ice tires. So far, so good. I have never been stuck. The closest I came was trying to clear 6' of compacted snow that our street plowers left on the downhill entry (12% grade) to my driveway. I was blowing down hill and slipped trying to back up the hill. I took another bite into the bank, got some new road under me, and backed right out. I've got about 400 lbs of sand in the dump bed.
I was gone for two weeks over Christmas, so when I got here yesterday there was 30" of snow on my driveway areas. The set up works great. I had to keep it slow, maybe 1 mph, to keep the motors from being overwhelmed, but it was throwing the snow a good 40'. The tires never were a problem. My set up is a 5600D, high flow, with a 240 blower.
I do keep a set of 4 chains in the bed, just in case, but they are still unopened. I've used the machine 5-6 times for snow so far this season. I'll post again on these tires if I have a problem or at the end of the season. My neighbor with a Kubota CT is planning on trading his machine in for a Toolcat. The attachment changeover is his stated reason.
