I know about the gelling problem with running summer blend in the winter ; but are there any concerns with running winter blend during the summer ??

Short answer, no.

Well, the winter blend will have lower energy content and give less mpg's. About 2 is what I have been seeing.

As long as it's been properly dosed (in my case, with a double-shot of Howe's), I'll be OK using the fuel I bought last month, Right?

I'm not sure what "blend" the farmer I purchase from had in his tank at the time...

*Hard tellin how recently or how long ago he purchased fuel so you have no idea if its winter or summer blend.

Any one intending to get your drum or tank filled now that diesel and home heating oil is cheap?
I am debating about calling my fuel guy to have him drop buy and fill my 55 gallon drum with off road.
Here on the above thread I was debating about filling my 55 gallon drum with summer blend which would have left me stuck with running summer blend all winter not a good deal really.
Today I'm faced with the opposite situation If i fill the drum now with winter blend i will be stuck with running winter blend all next summer not the best deal either.
Seems like no matter what choice i make it will be the wrong one.
Any other ideas?

Blend your own. ;) when needed. And try to buy straight #2, and mix #1 per the temps.

All 3 of my tractor tanks are full of summer blend.
I also have 3 two gallon cans of the summer blend.
I do have it treated with .58 ounces per gallon of PS which is almost twice the recommend dose.
Anyone think i wil have problems running it this winter.
