Massey scut 2015 GC1715
Greetings,

Well Colorado and Northwestern Kansas have just seen lots of snow . . and soon many states like mine (WI) will be seeing some snow too (but not the quantity Colorado just got at 3 feet).

For some time I've been considering snow handling choices for my new Massey scut (GC1715). I already have a new snowblower to go on my zero turn garden tractor as well.

Because I don't want to remove my fel for winter purposes . . . and just a bucket is not a great choice for a very long concrete driveway and concrete sidewalks (wear and tear) . . . I considered The Snow Edge as an interesting product.

Its made by RatchetRake and is a bucket "clamp on" product with a 2.5 inch thick nylon-type edge . . nothing bolts to the bucket. It keeps the bucket raised above the concrete and allows snow to be back dragged for close up clearing . . as well as doing forward clearing of snow and slush.

Anyone have experience or ever used the product or something like it ?

P.s. incidentally . . Because the nylon edge is designed to be sacrificial wear as you use it . . they are rated for 30 to 32 hours of use and you replace the edge for $49.00. 30 or 32 hours of actual snow clearing contact use seems to be a pretty good quantity of clearing on a tractor it would seem.

I have installed rubber cutting edges on the meyer and western plows for use in parking ramps. lasted and worked well. have seen used for parking lots also. The smaller utility plows we would shear the rubber mud flaps. Nylon can be pretty hard..... so not scratch yes, they liked the rubber because it would give a little on the cracks, therefore not tripping the plow and easier on the pavement.
