Winter on the plains

Went out tonight and fired up the 5093e and fed a round bale to the cows. The sun was setting on a cold (9 degree) day and the light was bouncing off the snow. No wind to speak of (which is rare in South Dakota!) and I just sat in the cab and felt the calmness of the day, the beauty of the sun-setting and it all reminded me why I live in the cold, wide open spaces of the upper midwest, otherwise known as God's country to those of us who live here.

I hope your day went as well as mine ended.

BRRRRRRRRRR! :cold: It's supposed to get down to 52 degrees here tonight (Upstate SC).

How close are you to the Hefty Brothers' farm(s)? I try to catch their Ag Phd show on RFD-TV when I get the chance.

Sounds like a heat wave. Was -38 yesterday morning!

Let us keep rural living a secret from the city folks. Right now city folks think we have fences to keep our livestock in. Little do they know that the fences are to keep city folks out.

yes sir, even open the doors sometimes to be "with it". amazing what a winter night out in the country is like, a beer in hand and a pooch or 2 near by, thats what where man was meant to be. by the way, when you get the jd started. lol. we all know what i mean by that, theres no such thing as cold in those cabs!
