Winter finally arrived... just spent the evening thawing pipes

That was the easy part. glad I don't own the place. The fun will be trying to fix the gump job the previous owner did while insulating, so things won't freeze again.
(You mean the pipes are supposed to be INSIDE the insulation!?!)

I had to deal with the original owners "gump job" when I bought this place. Not having been onsite for the construction, the best I can figure is they ran the water lines (pump and house) after they made the slab for the pump house. Then they stubbed them up on the outside of the pump house. I've seen that before but to wrap them with fiberglass insulation was a new one to me. It was nothing but a sloppy mess that had probably zero insulation value.

Lines now stub up INSIDE the pumphouse and I have a small heater that keeps the temp just above 32º. Makes for easier trimming around the structure as well.

Kinda amazes me when the person doesn't take little longer to do the job right the first time.

Dislike to say this,but we need some snow to cover septic fields down here now...-11F as of now.

15 below here when I got up. We have about 12" of snow; on behalf of all the businesses which rely on snowsledders I hope we get some more.
