Windguard for Vermeer 605 Baler

I bought a used Vermeer 605xl round baler a few years ago. The windguard is missing. What is its purpose and how important is it?
Baler seems to work OK but it does plug easily when trying to start a new bale. The baler has about 8400 bales on it and I only bale 50 acres a year.

According to the manual it is some type of bar mounted with lynch pins in front of the pickup roller.
The only way I knew that it was missing was by reading the manual about clearing a plugged core. It mentions removing it first and it shows where it goes but it does not give a picture or description.
Maybe someone with a 605xl can post a picture of it and I can have a better idea of what I am looking for.
