I picked up a Winchester Model 77 tube fed with Weaver 3x9 scope today for $125. The gun is in very good condition. I don't really care for the scope but did I do OK on the gun?

BillyP... what caliber? If it shoots well and is in as good a shape as you say...with the scope... I'd say you did pretty good /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Have you checked down the barrel to see what kind of shape it's in?

I have a winchester model 77 in .22 caliber but it uses a clip. Paid about $65.00 for it back in the 50's.

It's been well used and ocasionally misfires. Lots of tiny little pieces in the mechanism but very easy to dissasemble.

picture attached.

You did fine on the price. Book is $110.00 80% condition no scope. The rifle was made from 1955-1962. 217,000 were made.

Thanks guys. Since the serial number is in the low 8,000, I figure it was made in the 50s. Not a bad looking gun to be 50 years old.
