I have been kicking aroun the idea of trading in my 2011 L3800 Tractor by it self for a Grand L 3540. ( This Jerky 3 point hitch is driving my OCD nuts!!)

Just wondering if my loader and backhoe will work on the Grand L, on kubotas website it looks like the BH77 is an option for the Grand L but the loader is a La514 not a LA524 what is the difference??

Thanks

As far as I know the stock loader on the Grand L 3540 is an LA 724. The 524 probably isn't wide enough, the dealer would know for sure. The hoe will probably fit, if the Grand L subframe will take it. Most Grand L's have a BH92 mounted. One of the other members was asking the same question recently, seems to me the hoe would adapt.

The 524 is available for the L3540. For the price difference, I'd trade in the 514 and move up to the 724.

When you go to sell the tractor in the future, the 524 is going to be a lame duck next to a 724, it's one of the better features the Grand L's have over the plain L series.

My thougt was if i do trade my L3800 in on the 3540 was to just trade the tractor and keep loader and backhoe and attachents so i would not be out of pocket more than 5-6k. If i get the loader and everything i bet i will be out like 10k

I bet it won't be that much of a difference if you just do the loader and keep the backhoe. The reason is you'll kill your trade-in value when you remove your loader. Errbody wants a loader.

Your forgetting your tractor has much more value with the loader on it than without it. and it is already installed. This will make it much easier for your dealer to sell again. Keep the backhoe, we are all pretty sure it will work on the Grand L. It may need a new subframe or maybe not., but trade in tractor and loader for tractor and loader. You can get a idea of how much, but the build site, Build both, take of 10 percent, and do the math. And hope the Dealer will give some more to keep you and keep you happy and on his side. Depends on the dealer.. One of the Kioti guys just recently got 94 percent of what he paid for his CK30 on a DK40se pretty much what you are trying to do except Kubota instead of Kioti.

I would agree, especially because its already installed. I would keep the back hoe.
I discovered the jerky hitch on my L3800 just before I was to take delivery. The dealer was going to do the GL valve install for an additional $400. I decided at that point to look at other tractors on his lot. The L4400 and L4600 were also jerky. I was able to go to a L3240 GST w/LA724 loader for an additional $1500. The L3800 was a gear trans, and the L3240 was a new 2011 model, and had been on the lot for about a year.
I understand that it was different for me because I never actually owned the L3800, and that helped a lot.
The dealer may still be able to adjust your new 3PH valve, so it works correctly. Would you be good with that, or are you soured on the whole 3800 jerky thing?
Them not having to adjust another valve may be an incentive to give you a deal on a GL.
You do seem to have a good dealer that is willing to work with you.

Best of luck, Bill

No if they were able to fix the jerky hitch i would keep it, i like my l3800 but i have a mild case of OCD and crap like this drives me nuts when i know how it should work and it doesnt, and then i obsess over it.

I feel like a jerk every time i goto the dealer to complain about it, i feel like they all think "oh its this guy again" and im the problem not the tractor. They have been rather helpful with the hitch, im not sure how much more they want to do. Im worried they are going to say well we ordered the part number you gave us so its your problem now. Or something like that

What would you think i should get for trade on my l3800 with loader only?? 16? i think i paid 19k for the loader and tractor part of the deal. i have 55 hours now

EDIT: i found my invoice from when i bought it

i still think i paid to much, the final price was 424 less than that, they threw in the canopy for free so it was 31,200 with tax

EDIT: I looked on Kubotas site and MSRP for the tractor before tax the way i have it setup is 32k and i paid 31,200 with tax and box scraper and post hole digger with and sunshade so looks like i got about 15% off MSRP according to my calcualtions, but i could be wrong

The deal I had for the L3800 DT w/ loader was $18,009. That included a $1000 discount because I paid cash. Yours being a hydro and a 2011 puts it pretty much in line with what I would have paid.
Recently another member, Case245, bought a L3800 and was unhappy with it. He had very low hrs. and his dealer was willing to give him $3,500 less than he paid, as a trade. I feel that their offer was fair. You have owned your machine longer, but it's still almost new. If this thing with the hitch is going to affect your health, I would talk to your dealer, and see what he is willing to do on a trade. That way you will know what your facing.
As much as I liked the 3800, the 3240 is a good machine, and I'm kind of happy things turned out the way that they did.
In your case, you may be better off doing backhoe work with a little larger heavier machine, which the 3540 is. If he has a NOS leftover, like I bought, he may be happy to cut you a good deal.
