....

TYM might be doing fine as an engine builder . .

Jmho

TYM uses second party engines in their tractors from Mitsu, yanmar, Duetz...... It is believed that TYM purchased Kukje Machinery so as to have the diesel engine (Cummins) from branson to be used in their tractors instead of purchasing the from a vendor.

I must be confused because I thought tym engines were in some Mahindra . . Is kioti the engine maker then for some mahindras ?

I'd still not heard an answer on a question I posed some posts back . . the number offered was Mahindra was 3rd in tractor sales with 15% . . however I asked if 15% was the U.S market or North American msrket or numbers from the World market . . as I have a hard time believing Mahindra has that big of a position over Massey and Kioti in tractor sales in the U.S..

Generally things are reported for the American Market. Yes, Mahindra has a significant leg up on the rest of the value brands. The difference to their bottom line is debatable though as most of the tractors they are successful with they are buying from Mitsubishi.

So Mahindra tractors in many cases are Mitsubishi tractors ? That surprises me as their advertising always gives the impression of something different.

My personal experience looking at Mahindra scuts was not a positive one. A friend and I looked at several models in Spring of 2015. They were priced at or above a Kubota and the scuts we saw were overly clunky and lacked design elegance that kubota or massey or yanmar or jd offered. Neither my friend or I were impressed to the positive at all. Floor situation or seating situation either. I'm just not sure what competitive advantage Mahindra offers in the scut line at least (in price or features or design). But that was just our 2 opinions. But 15% of the market . . they must really have some superior offerings in the compact market because I didn't see it in the scut lineup. Jmho

Just as a commentary on J.D. product. They must really be seeing a slowdiwn in their sales of scuts and mowers. The last couple months one of their larger franchise dealers (15 locations) has been having sale pricing . . Plus 0% financing . . Plus an added 2 years of warranty . . combined. That's a great deal of incentives for them . . As just eash year of added warranty on a rider is over $950 per year alone.

I am curious. All the talk in this thread is about Kubota, JD and Mahindra. Does that push other makers (CNH, Kioti, etc) to extremely minor/fringe positions? I see far more NH and Case tractors (especially in Municipal and county equipment yards) than Mahindra. Kubota looks dominant around here, with JD 2nd in the private owners markets, but CNH and Kioti seem much more common than Mahindra, Yanmar, etc...

The world is all about branding and money. How can Big Players like Deere and Volvo have their competition build some of their construction equipment? Like JCB makes Volvo skidsteers just so Volvo has skidsteers in their lineup. Weird! And at the advice of some beancounter, all that can change in an instant.

Yea, Mitsubishi builds the small stuff, and TYM the mid-size. The stuff Mahindra builds in house is the larger (and most crude) utility models. (Correct me if I am wrong)

Lots of speculation.

If the Mahindra made tractors are the most crude, what does that tell us about Mahindra?

That they're trying to improve on their larger utility tractors?
