Will my Mahindra 2615 Pull a Fertilizer Spreader

Trying to determine if my Mahindra 2615 4WD Gear will pull one of the tandem axle fertilizer spreaders that you can use from a fertilizer Coop? Flat ground and I think it holds a maximun of 3 ton.

I don't think I would try it with a tractor that weighs 2500 lbs.

NO problem, just don't pull it down the highway loaded with it. Might not be wise to put a full load on the spreader either. The tandem spreaders don't have any tongue weight, might have more of a problem of spreader lifting the tractor off the ground!
Also make sure it is a ground drive and not PTO right?
How much are you going to do with it? Are they delivering or are you picking it up?

If you are on flat ground and the area is dry, then you shouldn't have any problem. That would be no different than towing 15K with a 5K truck. You wouldn't have to worry about stopping or being pushed down a slope if all your ground is level or nearly so. I would think you would have no trouble with pulling it unless you get into a soft spot and loose traction and then you wouldn't be in danger only have to get it unstuck which might require some additional tractors.

dusty3030 - It will be PTO driven. I will be picking up and pulling home with my 3/4 ton PU. Will be spreading it on 12 acres.

Be sure the PTO ain't a 1,000 rpm. Ground drive would probably be better. Pulling it with truck is fine, no problem. You probably won't have more than 1500 lbs of fertilizer then if you are doing 12 acres.

Better off paying the coop $7/acre for them to spread it, that's pretty much the going rate around here.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up having the coop spread it, they only charged $6/acre, good deal and it was done quick.
