Will machinery oil enamel stick to Omni epoxy primer

I would like to paint the front weights, engine and transmission of a Deutz tractor. I like the properties of epoxy primers, specially on bare metal and like the ease of touch up and price of Valspar machinery oil enamel as a top coat. can I make that marriage work.

I can't find anything to say you can't use Alkyd enamel over epoxy, but if it were me I'd used an acrylic enamel. even without a hardener it is going to be a tougher paint.

KEP thank you for replying I bought the Velspar oil enamel at lowes and Velspar hardener for that paint at Tractor Supply, it is supposed to make it harder dry quicker and possibly provide some UV protection at one Fifth the cost of acrylic enamel. Touch-ups should be easier, since it I don't need to buy reducer and hardener plus the acrylic enamel.
