I'm regrouping and reconsidering my needs vs my wants.
I've been planning to bring my father's old Ferguson home when I get a shelter built and will finally do that this spring. I would like to get a small bulldozer and would have enough left over to buy one after paying the loan off if I sell my Kubota. I have never liked my 3301 as evidenced in my comments on these pages; yet the biggest reason I don't like it is because I

Payments! :(

I would miss the loader but can cut enough wood next winter to either replace it, get his old Ford 4400 running... or both.

Tillers take very little HP to run so I think HP wise you will be fine. The gear ratio might be a little fast for the tiller to operate correctly though with the TO35 even if you have the Sherman transmission (I think some of MF had them like some of the Fords)

Without a hydro trans, how can you go slow enough to till?

The LOW on a Ferguson four speed transmission is pretty high.

You have to have the revs up on a gas tractor to develop power.

I have a 1951 8N with Sherman transmission, but I have never even tried my 5' KK tiller on it.
I am reasonably certain, that even in my light sandy soil, the Sherman is still too fast.

Thanks, good food for thought. I hadn't considered the ground speed. It will be nice to get it here anyways as some things like my disc and plow are meant for larger frame tractors. While my 3301 will handle them fine it won't get them very far off the ground.
The tiller is the family's, not just mine; I have been considering a smaller tractor with a 42" tiller, and dedicated to run a front mounted blower in the winter.

If you move the inboard end of your Top Link to the BOTTOM pair of adjustment holes the implements should come up 2" to 3" higher.

I am pretty certain the Ferguson will have pin adjustments for the right and left Lifting Rods. If you position the right and left Lifting Rods in the highest hole, implements should come up 3" to 5" higher. PHOTOS.

The L2501/3301 has up and lower holes selections, not very far apart.

Doesn't the TO35 have 3 speeds forward with a high and low range? If so, 1 low would be very slow. I think it would work.

According to Tractordata.com, speed in 1Lo is 1.3 mph. I couldn't figure out at what RPM's though. That should be slow enough for my ground, especially if I disc it first. I've only run the tractor once and that was almost 2 years ago. It's hard to find time to work on it when it's 200 miles away, and every time I go down there are too many things to do and too little time to do it. The last time I made a special trip down to install the new water pump; which morphed into a family reunion so all that I managed to do was take the carb off.
