I have been wanted a cab for my tractor ever since I got it. I'm sick of freezing my butt of when snowblowing.
I MAY have found a lucky break today. I stopped in to a tractor dealership today & they had a Cub Cadet that looks just like my Mahindra 2615 except it is white & yellow & it is a geared transmission & mine is HST. I THINK it was a 7235 but i can't remember for sure. I remeber the loader looking just like mine but the control valve for it seemed to be mounted diferently.
Anyways it had a sweet Sims cab on it so I asked about buying the cab. They said they'd sell it for $1500 cash & they'd remove it for me. Some of the vinal windows are a little scratched up but otherwise it is pretty mint.

So,...questions. Is this worth $1500 or should I try to get it for like $1000 since a brand new one is around $2000. ?
Will this fit my tractor correctly??? On the Sims website it says they're cab for the Cub Cadet fits the 7234, 7235, 7260, 7265, 7275, 7300, & 7305. The one I looked as is one of those,..not certain which one but looked just like my 2615. The Mahindra cab fits 2615, 2816, & 3015. Now here is what worries me. In the pictures on the Sims website the cabs look like they are shaped different. THe Mahindra seems to be sloped inward on the back & the Cub front windshield has the corner cut in. I'm going to try to call the dealership & Sims tomorrow. Was jsut wondering what you guys thought.

Hi Bill,
Check with RJPartsco.com website.
I bought a cab with glass windshield from them for about $900. It has soft sides and back and the doors lift off for summer use. I bought it before last winter and it worked great. I also added a new RoadPro RPLS-681 Ceramic heater from Ebay for another $50. and stay nice and warm plowing snow. Total was under a grand.

The cab is not listed but the 2816 is the same and is an exact fit for our 2615. The site shows it for $709. plus the cost of the glass windshield option. You can also get driving lights and a windshield wiper if you want.

Wow that seems pretty cool. I want something better than the lame golf cart type set ups but less than a $4000 cab. The Sims cabs are nice but not that great for the money. The windshield is glass but the rest of the panels are just vinal & pleather. The roof is steel though but I'm sure it is a pain to remove everything for the Summer. The one you have looks like it would be "good enough" for the Winter but cheap & easily removed for the Summer. Thanks for the info. So it has two doors that open??

You have really sparked my interest with this George. Can you take some more pics? I want to see how the back is set up, the inside, how it seals around the gas tank & loader valve, etc. Did you put something on the floor to cover up the holes? I was thinking bed liner mat would work pretty well. I think I am going to put in a small heater out of a car from a junkyard. Does it stay "warm" in there or it just isn't as bitter cold & windy?? Do you wish you has a windshield wiper or is it fine w/o one?

I found some older pictures you posted so I have some more now.

Here's a few more.

The back is tucked in front of the fuel tank and behind the seat. It attaches with snaps so it could be removed in summer as well as both doors.

It has a tube frame and bolts up to exiting holes where the grab handles are (you have to remove the grab handles) and holes in the floor.

The front cowl tucks under the windshield and wraps around and uses velcro to attach to the door panel.

I did not buy the wiper pkg. I figured if I needed it I could order it later. For now I throw some clean snow on the window and use a long handle squeegee to clean it off.

I did not cover the floor holes. I would have but the heater keeps it plenty warm for me.

The roof is fiberglass. I only removed my doors for summer and it worked great. The roof gave me shade on hot days. The back can be unsnapped and removed but I left mine on. If you want to, the entire cab can be unbolted and removed by undoing 12 bolts.

I went with the RoadPro heater because it was easier to install. Again, I figured if one heater wouldn't keep me warm I have room for a second one on the same mount bracket.
There isn't a lot of room for a 12V car heater that has to be plumbed in with hoses and power.

I also added roof lights, a strobe light, and just last month bought and installed a suspension seat.

All total (cab, lights. strobe, heater, and suspension seat) cost me about $1150.
Cab with windshield is from RJPartsco.com (about $900)
Road Lights and strobe from NAPA (about $100)
Suspension Seat with adjustable slide track from smartfarmer on Ebay for under $100 incl. shipping (search Ebay for universal tractor seat)
RoadPro heater (under $50 shipped) also on Ebay.
I think the wiper kit was another $175? from RJParts if you want it.

Wow thanks George.
It seems like a lot of money for a cheap frame & some vinal pieces but when you compare it to the other cabs out there it seems WAY cheaper. I guess ti is a decition one needs to make. Be more comfortable while you move your snow & loose $800 hard earned bucks or keep the $800 & dred going to move snow everytime it snows out.
I just had a "emergency budget commmitee meeting" with my wife. We have been following the Dave Ramsey Finacial Peace University to a Tee for the past few years & are doing great. My wife is VERY reluctant to have me spend the money but I got the ok. She didn't think I needed to spend the extra money for the glass windshield though:( I figure it is a good compromise:thumbsup: If I decide later on that I need the glass windshield I'll order that later.
It looks like I'l be making some sort of a chute rotator set up for my snowblower since the rear window is somewhat fixed.:mur:
Is the rear window ok to look out? I will be going backwards most of the time.
I'm going to order the kit right now.
;)

How do you like the suspension seat? WHy does it look like one butt check of the seat it higher than the other??
I want a lazy susan thingy to mount my seat on so I can spin part way around when I'm backing up snowblowing.

I was thinking of mounting something like this right on the black plastic pice below the steering wheel. Have the tubes poked through the plastic piece with the hoses running in behind there. You could mount it blowing up or down. I had one of these out before. It should be pretty small like 4 to 5" wide by 12" to 14" long & oh I dunno about 8" tall. I'm gonna check the junk yards & see.

Rear window is fine to look out. Just have to be careful washing and cleaning it so it doesn't get scratched.

Main reason I bought the cab is to keep the cold winter wind and blowing snow off of me. Now its more enjoyable to plow. I hated plowing dressed up like the abominable snowman just to keep warm. Before having the cab my fingers nearly froze, now I don't even wear gloves in the cab. You'll be happy.

The seat is an optical illusion. Both sides are equal with a raised ridge in the middle. I like the seat a lot. having a spring suspension is better than none.

I've also had the plastic piece under the wheel off. There's not much room behind it for any hoses. I barely had enough room to mount some toggle switches for the lights.
